Woodfield is an innovative and dynamic independent special school, providing 38-week day placements for children and young people aged 7 to 19. Our school is dedicated to supporting those with Autism, as well as associated speech and language difficulties, social communication challenges, and behavioural needs. We also cater to students with learning difficulties, sensory issues, and mental health needs.
Our Approach
At Woodfield, we take a multi-disciplinary approach to each child’s needs, offering comprehensive support through a team of dedicated professionals. Our in-house team includes a Speech, Language & Communication Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Play Therapist. We also provide access to psychologists, psychiatrists, and on-site counselling services.
Our Aims
Woodfield offers an engaging academic curriculum that includes all National Curriculum subjects, tailored to meet the individual needs of our students through highly personalised education programmes. In addition to academic achievement, we place a strong emphasis on developing independence skills, equipping our young people to lead meaningful lives with as much independence as possible within the community.
Our focus is on helping our students achieve successful outcomes, with pathways to employment-based training or workplace internships.
Our key aims for our students are to:
- Become happy, safe, and confident members of the community.
- Develop strategies for self-managing their behaviour across all settings.
- Become responsible and engaged citizens.
- Fulfil their potential to lead meaningful and independent lives.
